HER MAJESTY: HIP HOP FAN?

Who knew Queen Elizabeth II was a hip hop fan?

Prime Minister David Cameron has revealed that during a performance by one of Britain's hottest rappers at Friday's Olympics opening ceremony, Prince William leaned over and said: "I don't know if you know this, prime minister, but my grandmother is a big fan of Dizzee Rascal.'"

It's safe to assume William was joking. The queen's musical tastes run more to classical than to Rascal, who came to fame through London's gritty grime scene and is best known for his hit "Bonkers."

But the ceremony did reveal an unexpectedly playful side to the 86-year-old British monarch. She played herself in a filmed skit with Daniel Craig, welcoming secret agent James Bond to Buckingham Palace ? before stunt doubles parachuted from a helicopter into Olympic Stadium.

BIEBER IS A FAN

Missy Franklin added some star power to her fan base during her breakout performance in the pool.

Teen idol Justin Bieber tweets: "Heard (at)FranklinMissy is a fan of mine. Now I'm a fan of hers too! CONGRATS on winning GOLD! (Hashtag)muchlove."

Franklin may be one of the rising stars in swimming for Team USA, but she's also 17 years old.

"I just died," Franklin tweeted in response. "Thank you!"

TRAFFIC? WHAT TRAFFIC?

London was so worried about all the traffic the Olympics would bring that officials warned people to make alternate arrangements and even work from home if they can.

By many accounts it seems to have worked ? and then some.

My commute to work from north London, which usually takes a little over a half hour, took 16 minutes Monday. On Tuesday I made it in 15.

A colleague who has a 55-minute commute from the west found wide open highways and arrived in just 40 minutes. Subway and train operators report fewer delays than usual ? and in many cases fewer passengers. Even in central London there are eerily few cars. On Monday night I drove into Soho, a dense warren of theaters and restaurants, and found a parking space. On the street. For free.

That just doesn't happen in London.

ONE OF US

The London 2012 boss is a man of the people, at least when it comes to transit: He takes the train to work just like the rest of us.

Sebastian Coe was on the same Javelin train as me this morning from central London to Olympic Park. No song and dance, just low key and shaking hands with anyone who recognized him.

Which wasn't all that many people.

OVERHEARD

A conversation between a policeman and a crowd-control worker at St. Pancras station, indicating that a transit meltdown is not even close.

Policeman: "When is the busiest time at the station?"

Disappointed-looking station worker: "Never."

St. Pancras had been expected to be one of the travel hotspots for the games. Not yet, apparently.

JUDO GEM

Marti Malloy earned the second-ever Olympic judo medal for an American woman, and she was ready.

She proudly displayed the bronze prize for photographers and offered to strike the traditional pose.

"I've been working on my bite," she said Monday night. "I'm not sure if it should be mean or happy."

The 26-year-old Malloy got into judo when her parents enrolled her in a free class on a military base when she was growing up in Oak Harbor, Wash. She went on to compete at San Jose State University, and 92-year-old coach Yoshihiro Uchida made the trip to London to see her big win.

Malloy's three brothers also learned judo when they were kids, and she said she felt fortunate to be involved with the sport.

"Judo is one of those sports that in the U.S. obviously isn't very well known but is the thing that will teach you the most about discipline, respect, hard work, dedication," she says. "I know all sports are like that but judo especially, those are the ideals that the sport is built around."

STILL TOP DRAW

They didn't have their bikinis on, but Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings were still the top draw at Beach Volleyball.

The Americans won to remain undefeated since the start of the Athens Games. That's a streak of two gold medals, 16 matches and 32 consecutive sets.

"It's the game, it's the intensity and it's the venue that brings other athletes out," May-Treanor says. "That's what the Olympic spirit is all about."

The American duo donned full-sleeved shirts and long pants. May-Treanor said it wasn't the coldest weather they'd ever played in, but the electricity from the crowd keeps them hyped ? and thus warm.

DJOKOVIC VS. RODDICK

Novak Djokovic and Andy Roddick will meet in the second round of the men's tennis competition on Tuesday.

Djokovic is the second seed in the tournament, while Roddick is unseeded. That doesn't mean Djokovic is overlooking the three-time Wimbledon finalist.

"Andy has one of the strongest serves in the world, ever, and it's his biggest weapon," Djokovic says. "The grass courts this year are very fast and it's a low bounce, so I think I will have to be on top of my game in order to win that match."

Roddick is back at the Olympics after skipping the Beijing Games. He knows it won't be easy to stay around London much longer against the powerful Djokovic.

"The guy has been the best player in the world over the last couple of years. It's going to be tough," Roddick said. "But the situation, we've both been through it a million times. I'm going to have to serve well and take some chances on returns."

ANOTHER TUNE-UP

It's tune-up time for the United States men's basketball team. LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Co. got a nice test in their opener against France, a team with plenty of NBA talent on its roster.

The Americans still cruised past France with little problem, and now it's on to much lighter fare. They play Tunisia on Tuesday night and Nigeria on Thursday, two teams that are expected to make them barely break a sweat. They meet Lithuania on Saturday.

The game against Tunisia will be a chance for the U.S. to work out a few of the kinks that showed up against France, and possibly treat the crowd to a few more of the high-flying dunks and fast breaks everyone has come to expect from the best team in the world.

"When you play games in your pool and you're a significant favorite, you don't want to just win, you want to maintain and build good habits," coach Mike Krzyzewski says.

FIT FOR JUMPING

Zara's horse: cleared.

High Kingdom, the horse of Olympic royal Zara Phillips, was cleared Tuesday to compete in the final show jumping phase of the equestrian eventing competition.

In eventing, judges and veterinarians inspect the horses once before the dressage portion, and again after the arduous cross-country event to make sure they're fit enough to handle the fences of the show jump final.

On Monday, Princes William and Harry cheered their cousin Phillips on as she rode High Kingdom over 28 obstacles and through a slippery cross-country course in Greenwich Park that helped put Britain in second place in the team standings. Germany leads, with Sweden in third.

During Tuesday's inspection, Phillips trotted High Kingdom before the judges, who promptly declared him "accepted."

IT'S GO TIME

If the United States women's gymnastics team is going to capture its first gold medal since 1996, they're going to need a bounce-back performance from Jordyn Wieber.

The women's team final kicks off on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. London time, and the Americans are expected to be in a tight duel with Russia for the gold. The U.S. beat the Russians for the gold at the world championships last year, getting some revenge against Russia for a loss in 2010.

Wieber did not qualify for the all-around competition in London, so now she'll be relied upon to help them hold off Russia for the big prize.

"We're going to have cheer her up and hype her up," teammate Gabby Douglas says.

OBAMALYMPICS?

We know that FLOTUS (first lady of the United States Michelle Obama) has cheered on the Olympians from the stands in London. But what about POTUS (president of the U.S.), who stayed home?

The White House couldn't say whether President Barack Obama has been watching but thought it likely.

"I know that he was looking forward to the Olympics starting so I'd be surprised if 72 hours into it he hadn't seen it yet," deputy press secretary Josh Earnest said Monday as Obama flew Air Force One to New York for an evening fundraiser. Campaign spokeswoman Jenn Psaki joked that the Olympics would be forced onto all the plane's TVs to improve the odds.

Getting to Olympic Park might be tough Tuesday morning.

British transport officials are suspending subway service on trains running to east London's Stratford, close to many of the Olympic venues.

Apparently, a driver reported smelling smoke on a train. Passengers are all OK.

No word on when the subway will be back up and running, and officials recommend that spectators try using other routes to get to the park.

MENTALLY STRONG

After two tours of duty in Iraq, U.S. boxer Jamel Herring laughs at the idea he'll be nervous when he takes the London ring for his first bout Tuesday. The American light welterweight feels his military training and the tragedy of his daughter's unexpected death in her crib have prepared him for anything Kazakhstan's Daniyar Yeleussinov can throw at him.

"I've already been through the worst times," Herring said after a recent workout. "This right here, it's not an easy break, but it's a lot different from being in Iraq. I've been through the hardships. I know what it takes. I'm mentally strong. I know what I've got to do when I go out there."

AUTUMN GAMES?

The Summer Olympics haven't always been held in the summer. The 1956 games in Melbourne, Australia, were held in the autumn (Nov. 22-Dec. 8) because of the reverse of seasons in the Southern Hemisphere. The exception was the equestrian events: Due to a six-month quarantine requirement for horses to be admitted into the country, those events were held in June in Sweden, more than five months before the opening ceremony in Australia.

RATINGS WIN

The Nielsen company says 36 million people watched NBC's Olympic coverage Sunday night, the biggest audience for the second night of a non-U.S. summer Olympics competition since TV began covering them in 1960.

Counting the opening ceremonies on Friday, an average of 35.8 million people have tuned in for the three nights. STRICT MUM

Talk about strict parenting.

New Zealand kayaker Mike Dawson made the semifinals of the kayak slalom at the Olympics despite being given a two-second penalty by his mother Kay ? who is a judge at the games.

Dawson touched gate five when going down the 18-gate Olympic course on Sunday, and his mother didn't hesitate to penalize her son. It was one of two two-second penalties Dawson received, but he still advanced to Wednesday's semis.

Dawson joked in an email to The Associated Press on Monday that he was tempted to get his coach to put in a protest "about that particular judge."

It would have made dinnertime at the Dawsons even more awkward. His coach is father Les.

"That would've had all sorts of ramifications after the Olympics and besides, I like mum's cooking too much!" Dawson joked in his message to AP.

Strict New Pennsylvania Voter-ID Law Challenged in State Court

A tough new voter-identification law in Pennsylvania is in state court and the national spotlight this month, under challenge from opponents who say it's a Republican scheme that violates the state constitution and disenfranchises thousands of voters.

The law is just one in a wave of legislation sweeping the country?aimed at tightening voter regulation through restrictions on early voting and voter registration. Many states already require some method of identification to vote, but Pennsylvania and nine others recently have passed laws requiring specific kinds of government-issued IDs. These new rules are driving a furious debate over voting rights as the presidential election looms, with experts saying that turnout--especially in swing states such as Pennsylvania--could decide a close race.?

Advocates for the Pennsylvania law say the new rules are necessary to combat voter fraud. In opening arguments at the state courthouse in Harrisburg last week, Patrick Cawley, a senior deputy to Republican Attorney General Linda Kelly, said that ?widespread disenfranchisement will not happen.? He also said that ?nothing could be more rational? than requiring a voter to show a photo ID--the same argument advocates of the law have been making across the nation.

Pennsylvania used to require only that people voting for the first time, or the first time in a new polling place, show a utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or other form of ID. The new law requires photo ID such as a passport, driver's license, state-issued non-driver ID, or a student, military, or employee ID; all the photo IDs must have expiration dates.

Opponents worry that the law disproportionately affects minorities, the poor, the elderly, and students, all of whom may lack the specific type of ID required --as well as the money, time, and legal documents necessary to obtain it. Most states require official documents such as birth certificates and Social Security cards in order to obtain the voter ID, and the ID itself usually costs $10 to $20.

Some Democrats, in fact, say that the laws are intended to rig elections in the GOP's favor. Those fears were reinforced recently when Republican Mike Turzai, the Pennsylvania House's majority leader, declared at a Republican State Committee meeting: ?Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor [Mitt] Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania--done.?

Nationwide, a full 25 percent of all voting-age African-Americans do not have the photo ID to participate in the upcoming election under requirements like Pennsylvania's. In Pennsylvania alone, according to NAACP Washington Bureau Director Hilary Shelton, 758,000 voters do not have the necessary ID--and these people are disproportionately racial and ethnic minorities, disabled persons, and women.

Just in Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Inquirer?reported,?186,830 registered voters--18 percent of the city's total--do not have a Pennsylvania Transportation Department-issued ID.?

Shelton called the legislation ?convenient? in Pennsylvania because it disenfranchises many of the same people who helped Barack Obama become president in 2008. In recent election cycles, Pennsylvania has been a key swing state. He added that the argument that stricter rules are necessary to reduce voter fraud is unfounded, because there have been zero cases of in-person voter fraud in the state.

?It really is a solution looking for a problem, but one that has such a disparate effect on racial and ethnic minorities that the collateral damage actually far exceeds any problem they are trying to solve,? Shelton said.?

Nils Hagen-Frederiksen, a spokesman for the attorney general's office, declined to comment on the legal proceedings. But he said the legal assumption is that the statute is constitutional, so the burden is on the challengers to show it would cause "immediate and irreparable harm unless the court acts now."?In a brief from the office, the defenders argue that there is ample time before the election for eligible voters to obtain the necessary ID.?

Opponents of the Pennsylvania law and similar laws across the nation are opting to wage the battle in state rather than federal courthouses because of specific guarantees in state constitutions that they argue are violated by the new requirements. In addition to the state case, the Justice Department?s Civil Rights Division announced that it is investigating whether the new law violates the federal Voting Rights Act.?

RIP Frank Pierson TVWriter.Com

A sensational writer. If you love great, funny, serious films and TV (yes, that?s intentional) you probably already love Pierson?s work even if you didn?t know he was the writer.

Former President of Motion Picture Academy Dies ? He Wrote One of the Movies? Most Iconic Lines?Deadline
by TeamTVWriter Press Service

A veteran TV and movie screenwriter, director and producer who served as president of both the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences and the Writers Guild-West has died,?Deadline.com?reports. Frank Pierson was 87.

?Gentlemanly yet ornery, meticulous yet creative, Pierson compiled a remarkable writing resume, starting in the 1950s with television shows like ?Have Gun ? Will Travel? and ?Playhouse 90,? followed by five decades of films like ?Cat Ballou? (screenplay by Walter Newman and Frank R. Pierson), ?Dog Day Afternoon? (screenplay by Frank Pierson), ?A Star Is Born? (screenplay by Joan Didion & John Gregory Dunne and Frank Pierson), ?In Country? (screenplay by Frank Pierson and Cynthia Cidre), and ?Presumed Innocent? (screenplay by Frank Pierson and Alan J. Pakula),? the piece reports.

In 1971-72, Pierson created-wrote-produced the TV series NICHOLS, starring James Garner in a role that some ? namely all of us here at TVWriter? ? completely overshadowed Garner?s earlier Maverick and later Rockford. Late in his career, Pierson was a consulting producer on AMC?s ?Mad Men? and CBS?s ?The Good Wife.?

Pierson created some movie lines that have become iconic quotes, the story notes. The Writers Guild pointed out one of them in a statement: ?Odds are, all of you know the famous line he came up with while writing 1967?s ?Cool Hand Luke? (screenplay by Donn Pearce and Frank Pierson): ?What we?ve got here is failure to communicate.? The line was not in Pearce?s original novel. (?The phrase just sort of appeared on the page. I looked at it and thought, ?Now that?s interesting.?? Pierson to the WGA described his process this way: ?Sit down at 10 o?clock in the morning and write anything that comes into my head until 12. One of the few things I?ve discovered about writing is to form a habit that becomes an addiction so that if you don?t put something down on paper every day, you get really mean and awful with withdrawal symptoms, and your wife and your dog and your kids are going to kick your ass until you get back to it because they can?t bear you in that state of mind.??

Deadline reports: ?Pierson was born in Chappaqua, N.Y., and attended Harvard. (Pierson?s parents, family and their lives, were the subject of the 1945 film ?Roughly Speaking,? starring Rosalind Russell and Jack Carson.) He got his break in Hollywood in 1958 as scripted editor for ?Have Gun ? Will Travel? and moved on to write for the television series ?Naked City,? ?Route 66? and others. He went on to write or co-write many notable Academy Award-nominated films including ?Cat Ballou? and ?Cool Hand Luke.? It was ?Dog Day Afternoon? which won Pierson his Oscar.?

Pierson directed and worked on the screenplay for ?A Star Is Born,? a project that produced notorious conflict behind the scenes. ?The in-fighting on the film between himself, Barbra Streisand, her boyfriend/producer Jon Peters, and Kris Kristofferson led him to write the notorious and controversial article ?My Battles With Barbra And Jon? in New West magazine,? Deadline reports. ?Many felt that his talking-out-of-school about Hollywood bigwigs irreparably damaged his career.?

Pierson was president of the Writers Guild of America-West twice, from 1981-83 and again from 1993-95. He was president of the Motion Picture Academy from 2001-05. He also was one of the writing heroes of our boss, Larry Brody, ?from the first time I heard his name, in conjunction with ?Dog Day Afternoon,? to now. I admired Pierson not only as a writer but as a human being. Everything I?ve seen and heard about his work and his life said he was, for all practical ? and impractical ? purposes, a man without fear.?

(AP) ? His hair dyed a shocking comic-book shade of orange-red, James Holmes showed up in court for the first time, but didn't seem to be there at all.

The world's first look at the man accused of killing 12 moviegoers and injuring 58 others in a shooting rampage at a packed midnight screening of the new Batman film was that of a sleepy, seemingly inattentive suspect.

Holmes shuffled into court Monday in a maroon jailhouse jumpsuit with his hands cuffed. Unshaven and appearing dazed, Holmes sat virtually motionless, his eyes drooping as the judge advised him of the severity of the case. At one point, Holmes simply closed his eyes.

He never said a word.

Prosecutors said they didn't know if he was being medicated. His demeanor, however, angered victims' relatives. Tom Teves, whose son, Alex, was killed in the attack, watched Holmes intently throughout the roughly 12-minute hearing, sizing up the 24-year-old former doctoral student.

"I saw the coward in court today and Alex could have wiped the floor with him without breaking a sweat," Teves said. His son, a physical therapist, dove to protect his girlfriend during "The Dark Knight Rises" shooting at a multiplex in nearby Aurora in the Denver suburbs.

The court appearance gave millions the chance to scrutinize Holmes' every movement, every flutter of his heavy eyelids and form their opinions.

"It struck me that this is a person who's been through an emotional maelstrom and therefore might be totally wiped out emotionally," said Dr. Jeffrey Gardere, an assistant professor of behavioral medicine at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Gardere said there could be "a psychotic process going on and we see that being acted out there. Or there might be some sort of malingering going on. In other words, trying to make himself look worse than he actually is. Or maybe a combination of all of those things."

The hearing was the first confirmation that Holmes' hair was colored. On Friday, there were reports of his hair being red and that he told arresting officers that he was "The Joker." Batman's nemesis in the fictional Gotham has brightly colored hair.

Authorities have declined to confirm if Holmers told officers that he was Batman's enemy. Investigators found a Batman mask inside his apartment, a law enforcement official close to the investigation said Sunday on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the news media.

Holmes, whom police say donned body armor and was armed with an AR-15 rifle, a shotgun and handguns during the attack, was arrested shortly afterward. His home was booby-trapped with a trip wire, explosives and unknown liquids that took a day to disarm.

Police have said Holmes began buying guns at Denver-area stores nearly two months before Friday's shooting and that he received at least 50 packages in four months at his home and at school.

Holmes, who is being held in isolation, is refusing to cooperate, authorities said. They said it could take months to identify a motive.

The shooting was the worst in the U.S. since the Nov. 5, 2009, attack at Fort Hood, Texas. An Army psychiatrist was charged with killing 13 soldiers and civilians and wounding more than two dozen others.

On Monday, security was tight as uniformed sheriff's deputies were stationed outside, including on the roofs of both court buildings.

Holmes' entrance into the courtroom was barely noticeable but relatives of shooting victims leaned forward in their seats to catch their first glimpse of him. Two women held hands tightly, one shook her head. One woman's eyes welled up with tears.

Holmes sat down in a jury box, next to one of his attorneys. When the judge asked him if he understood his rights, his attorneys did all the talking.

Christina "Crispy" Blache, who was shot in both legs during the rampage, watched clips of Holmes' court appearance afterward with her father, Robert Blache. Her father said Holmes looked insane, while the restaurant manager said she believed Holmes had no idea what he did.

"He seemed kind of out of it, just sitting there. I don't really know what to think as far as he goes because he didn't seem remorseful or anything," she said.

Prosecutor Carol Chambers said her office is considering pursuing the death penalty, but that a decision will be made in consultation with the victims' families.

David Sanchez, who waited outside the courthouse during the hearing, said his pregnant daughter escaped without injury but her husband was shot in the head and was in critical condition. His daughter was scheduled to deliver her baby on Monday.

"When it's your own daughter and she escaped death by mere seconds, I want to say it makes you angry," Sanchez said. He said his daughter, 21-year-old Katie Medley, and her husband, Caleb, 23, had been waiting for a year to watch the movie.

Asked what punishment is appropriate if Holmes is convicted, Sanchez said, "I think death is."

Chambers' office is responsible for the convictions of two of the three people on Colorado's death row.

Chambers also is the only state district attorney to seek the death penalty in a case in the last five years, said Michael Radelet, a sociology professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder who tracks death penalty cases.

Yet Colorado uses the death penalty relatively sparingly. There has only been one execution since it was reinstated by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1976. The state legislature fell one vote short of abolishing the death penalty in 2009.

At a news conference in San Diego, where Holmes' family lives, their lawyer, Lisa Damiani, refused to answer questions about him and his relationship to the family. She said later: "Everyone's concerned" about the possibility of the death penalty.

When asked if they stood by Holmes, Damiani said, "Yes they do. He's their son."

Holmes is expected to be formally charged next Monday. He is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, and he could also face additional counts of aggravated assault and weapons violations. Holmes has been assigned a public defender.

Weeks before, Holmes quit a 35-student Ph.D. program in neuroscience for reasons that aren't clear. He had earlier taken an intense oral exam that marks the end of the first year but University of Colorado Denver officials would not say if he passed, citing privacy concerns.

At a news conference, university officials refused to answer questions about Holmes. "To the best of our knowledge at this point, we think we did everything that we should have done," Donald Elliman, the university chancellor.

The judge has issued an order barring lawyers in the case from publicly commenting on matters including evidence, whether a plea deal is in the works or results of any examination or test performed on someone.

Some of the victims' families, who had traveled to Colorado to attend the hearing, planned to return home to plan funerals. Chambers said her office would keep them informed through various methods, including the news media, while following the judge's order.

"At this point everyone is interested in a fair trial with a just outcome for everybody involved," she said.

Timothy Courtois, 49, was driving 112 mph on the Maine Turnpike with an AK-47 assault weapon, four handguns and several boxes of ammunition in his car when state police pulled him over about 10 a.m. on Sunday, said Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.

He told police that he was headed to Derry, N.H., to shoot a former employer, McCausland said in a statement.

Courtois told police he had attended the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight," at a theater in Saco, Maine, on Saturday night with a loaded gun in his backpack, he said.

Police found clippings in his car about the mass shooting in Aurora, Colo., where 12 people were killed and 58 wounded by a gunman at a Friday showing of "The Dark Knight," he said.

At Courtois' home in Biddeford, Maine, police found several additional guns, including a machine gun, and thousands of rounds of ammunition, he said.

Courtois was slated to appear in court on Monday in Springvale District Court on initial charges of speeding and carrying a concealed weapon, McCausland said.

Life and Business Lesson from a Boater | Business Consulting Buzz

Last weekend I headed up the coast on a boaters retreat. A bunch of guys that have boats get together, have some drinks and BBQ.

Working hard is important, but I wish I would have just stopped and taken more time to think about things

We arrived at the destination, about 2.5hrs up ocean from the marina?

The ocean carved a path between two mountain ranges and the sun did it?s best to peak through the clouds that sat hanging at the top of each mountain peak.

Boaters? Attitude

Boaters are an interesting bunch. They?re friendly. They love to invite you onto their boat and show you around. Of course, they?ll offer you a drink too.

I had a great chat with one boat owner, and he shared a lesson with me that I think you?ll find relevant in your own business and life.

Alex Looks Back

Alex had built a successful consulting company with 10 employees. He started off telling me about his trip to Italy. Then about his trip to Greece. Then to Morocco and the list went on. I said, ?Alan, are these work related trips or?? He looked at me, smiled and said, ?No, I?m still working, I?m just trying to enjoy more of life and travelling to these places is something I?ve always wanted to do.?

He continued, ?You know Michael, looking back there were always so many things going on in my business that I didn?t feel I could ever take a break.? I nodded, knowing where he was coming from.

?Working hard is important, but I wish I would have just stopped and taken more time to think about things. I?m sure I could have fit in more time to enjoy my life without bad consequences. Now I?m trying to play catch up for all that time.?

Alan?s business is now at a point where he only works 3 days a week. The rest of the time he?s on his 38? boat, exploring and enjoying the waters.

This successful business man?s message was simple?.

The Lesson

We all have lots going on in our lives. Yet, it?s critical that we take the time to think about what we really want out of life and start enjoying it.

If you dream about travelling the world but can?t afford the time or money to do it right now, start by taking a one or two week travel somewhere you really want to go. If you can?t manage that, hop in your car, a bus or train and enjoy a few days somewhere you haven?t been before.

There?s hardly a good reason to starve yourself of enjoyment for a future of good times.

Taking breaks and doing what you love provides great business benefits too:

? You?ll be happier.
? You?ll feel refreshed and energized.
? Often the best business ideas come when you?re not ?doing business?.
? You?ll feel more balanced in your life.

Give it some thought. Are you saving up and waiting to enjoy life, or are you getting a regular dose of good times and enjoying life?
